watch
out for this curve partington point - big sur, ca. not much run off when i
went from 50 to zero in about 15 feet. low-sided taking out the left faring,
the bike then hit the guardrail, bent the forks, stood up and took out
the right plastic. put the bike back together and it lasted another 5k
miles before (at 95,000 miles) the engine would only vibrate above 6000
rpm. the bike was then resurrected by a cute croation girl from the bay
area as she put in a different engine and all new front.
BUT the most dangerious corners on p.c.h. south of monterey is north bound, about 4 miles? north of ragged point. the road lulls you into a rythmtic 45 mph curves and then you'll see a "20"mph sigh on the right side of the road indicating a right corner; 40 yard later on the left side of the road the same sign pointing to the right..........AND IF YOU SEE THE NEXT SIGN (20mph indicating a right hand U-TURN/Swithch-back) SECONDS LATER AND YOU ARE NOT DOING 15-20 mph, PRAY !! that there is no oncomming traffic because the corner is a DECREASING RADIUS BIG TIME and you may just catch 300 feet of air, never mind possible on comming traffic.
